Friday, July 8: New York State Blues Festival kicks off

After a one-year hiatus, the New York State Blues Festival is back this year and better than ever. This year, the event moves to Syracuse's Inner Harbor for three days of great blues, food, and beverages. Admission is free.

  • 5 p.m. - Funky Blu Roots
  • 6 p.m. - Mojo Myles Mancuso
  • 7 p.m. - Dana Fuchs
  • 8:30 p.m. - The Super Delinquents
  • 9:30 p.m. - Hadden Sayers
Also today
  • Former teen heartthrob, Rick Springfield, brings his pop vibe to the Showroom at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. The show starts at 8 p.m. Ticket are $50, $55, $65.
  • Dave Ruch at the Earlville Opera House (18 E. Main St., Earlville), 11 a.m. – Admission is free.
  • Stonelord CD release party with Black Bears, Jamie Kent, The Rest of Us and Dylan J. Suttles at Lost Horizon (5863 Thompson Road, DeWitt), 7:30 p.m.
  • Symphony Syracuse brass quintet at Lorenzo State Historic Site (17 Rippleton Road, Cazenovia), 7:30 p.m. – Admission is free.
  • Skaneateles Community Band at Clift Park, Skaneateles, 7:30 p.m.
  • Binghamton Jazz Festival with Splash, Mike Kinney and Friends, Basin Street Band, Zari and Friends and The Cheating Intention (downtown Binghamton), noon to 10 p.m.
  • Sugarland and Sara Bareilles at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center
