Sunday, June 30: Texaco Country Showdow at the Regional Market

The 32nd Annual Texaco Country Showdown and Howlin' Car Show takes place Sunday at the Syracuse Regional Market. This singing competition will feature Nashville duo, Walker McGuire as 20 competitors vie for prizes. The music event starts at 2 p.m. Gates open at 11 a.m. Admission is free.  

Balloon Festival

Eddie Money headlines Sunday as Balloonfest 2013 wraps up at Jamesville Beach Park (4110 West Shore Rd., Jamesville). The festival opens at 11 a.m. Mickey Thomas takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. Music starts at 4:30 p.m. with Wild Honey, followed by Rock Bottom All-Stars (6:30 p.m.) . Admission is $10. Kids under 12 are admitted free.

Saturday, June 29: Tipp Hill Beer Fest, Balloon Fest and more

Summer has arrived in CNY and this weekend there's no shortage of great outdoor events to enjoy.  

Tipp Hill Beer Fest

Over 30 CNY area breweries will participate in the annual Tipp Hill Beer Fest outside Coleman's (100 South Lowell Ave.). Music will be provided by The Mere Mortals and Dark Hollow. The event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Admission is $35 in advance.  

Balloon Festival

Starship with Mickey Thomas headlines Saturday as Balloonfest 2013 continues at Jamesville Beach Park (4110 West Shore Rd., Jamesville). The festival opens at 11 a.m. Mickey Thomas takes the stage at 9:30 p.m. Music starts at 4 p.m. with Victus, followed by Yankee Rebel (5:45 p.m.), and Under the Gun (7:30 p.m.).
