Sylvan Beach area restaurants offer up samples of their finest menu items at today's Taste of Sylvan-Verona Beach event at American Legion (703 Clifford Ave., Sylvan Beach). Area musicians, including Moss Back Mule Band, Reckless Drivin’, Bernie Clarke and the Rhythm Sharks, Johnson and Company perform. The event runs from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is $5. Friday, April 20: Rockin' the Red Cross at the Landmark tonigh

The 7th annual Rockin’ the Red Cross benefit for the American Red Cross takes place tonight at the Landmark Theatre (362 S. Salina St.). Ten bands from area companies perform for bragging rights in the event.

Last year's winners,  the CXTec Dinosaurs, will start off the night. Saturday, April 7: Phil Clarke musicians’ benefit in Cortland tonight

Area musicians gather tonight at the Blue Frog (64 Main St., Cortland) for the 23rd annual Phil Clark benefit for the Cortland Youth Bureau’s Music Matters program. Performers include The Rolling Prines, The Wild Hunt, Colleen Kattau, and more. Music starts at 7 p.m. Donations are requested.
