Sunday, May 29: TK99 Blues, Brew and BBQ at Chevy Court today

The Max Weinberg Band and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes  headline today's TK99 Blues, Brew and BBQ at Chevy Court at the New York State Fairgrounds. And, for the first time, there will be no admission charge for the event.

Liverpool is the Place concert series 2011 lineup

What better way to spend a summer evening than listening to live music under the stars. One of the summer's most popular free music events, the Liverpool is the Place concert series, has announced its 2011 schedule. Music runs Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in Johnson Park in the heart of the village.Admission is free.

    May 15: Jengo Jam Benefit at McNamara's


    Area musicians will gather today at McNamara's Pub (5600 Newport Rd., Camillus) for a benefit for Gretta Schermerhorn-Jengo. The event will feature a reunion of Full Tilt, along with Joanne Perry and the Unstoppables, Joe Henson, Hank Smith and the Camillus Riffraff, and Weiss.

    Schermerhorn-Jengo was seriously injured in a car crash in December.

    The event runs from noon to 7 p.m. and includes a buffet dinner. Tickets are $20.

    Ronnie James Dio tribute at Lost Horizon May 14

    Some of Central New York's best musicians are getting together Saturday, May 14 to pay tribute to Ronnie James Dio, who passed away May 16, 2010. "Lock up the Wolves" takes place at Lost Horizon (5853 Thompson Rd.). Admission is $5.

    The event features music by Titanium Black with special guests Zadoc Angell, Russ Beckwith, Billy Blanchard, Chris Brinkman, Eddie Carpenter, Matt Caustic, Lee Chetney, Roy Coston, Scott Dixon, Glenn Goodwin, Wayne Johnson, Kevin Orr, Phil Pensabene, Brian Prior, Pat Puffer, Chuck Robbins, Darren Scott, Scott Schimpffer, Tamaralee Shutt, Mark Tanner, Dee Thorpe, John Wilson, and Tammy Wilkinson.

    Schedule and artists announced for 2011 Syracuse Jazz Festival

    Monday, M&T Syracuse Jazz Fest executive director Frank Malfitano announced the lineup and schedule for this years event. Headliners for the free festival, which runs June 24 and 25, include the Robert Cray Band, the Average White Band, Felix Caveliere's Rascals, Return to Forever IV with Chick Corea and Stanely Clarke, and the Brothers of Funk Big Band featuring David Letterman Trumpeter Al Chez.

    The All-County and City of Syracuse All-Star bands will open the festival Friday and the OCC Jazz Band will kick off Saturday's lineup.
