Friday, April 29: Rockin' the Red Cross tonight at the War Memorial

Bands from 13 area companies and schools will perform tonight at the Onondaga Country War Memorial (800 S. State St.) as part of Rockin’ the Red Cross. Music starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $20 at the door. All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross of Central New York.

  • John Cadley, Cathy Wenthen, Eileen Rose, and Larry Hoyt at the Nelson Odeon (4035 Nelson Road, Nelson), 8 p.m. - $12.
  • Slow Six at the Redhouse (201 S. West St.), 7:30 p.m. - $15.
  • Lauren Mettler, Bruce Ward, Chris Vecsey and more perform as part of a benefit for the Rogers Environmental Education Center at the Palace Theater (19 Utica St., Hamilton), 7:30 p.m. - $5 for adults, under 12 free.
  • The Shpongletron Experience, OPax Effex, and Random Rab at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.), 8 p.m. - $25 at the door.
  • Syracuse University Symphony Band performs “Symphony No. 1: The Lord of the Rings” will be performed at Crouse College’s Setnor Auditorium, Syracuse University campus, 8 p.m. – free admission.
  • Onondaga Community College Percussion Ensemble at Onondaga Community College’s Storer Auditorium (4585 W. Seneca Turnpike), 11:15 a.m. – free admission.
  • Bob Piorun and Students of Cayuga ARC F.A.M.E. Program at F.A.M.E., Auburn, 7 p.m.
  • Nine Round CD Release Party with Cry To The Blind and Caustic at Suzy’s Tavern (6 Lexington Ave., Auburn)
