Friday, July 16: Empire Brewfest today in Syracuse's Clinton Square

Empire Brewfest takes place today in Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse. Music starts at 6 p.m. and includes performances by Mikey Powell, Jimmy Kent and the Options, Moho Collective, and Phil Minidale.

Over 100 breweries will offer a wide variety of beers for sampling. Tickets are $49 at the gate; music lover tickets are available for $19 which do not allow sampling. You must be 21 or older to enter.

• Metallica tribute band Battery headlines tonight at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.). Dirty Speaker and SES.O.D open. Doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.
