Saturday, July 3: Lots of music in and around the 'Cuse
Here's some of what's going on:
- The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra performs at 8 p.m. at Emerson Park, Auburn
- Chris Taylor and the Custom Taylor Band, and Mike Sims and Stan Prez perform at the Fair Haven Field Days at Downtown Park in Fair Haven. Music starts at 1 p.m.
- Festival Ameribeat continues at Sterling Stage Kampitheater, Sterling.
- Lynyrd Skynyrd, .39 Special and Bret Michaels are at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, Darien Center starting at 7 p.m.
- The 19th Annual Great Blue Heron Music Festival featuring Donna The Buffalo, Burke and Bone, Jim Donovan and Drum The Ecstatic, Sim Redmond Band, Big Leg Emma, Tiger Maple String Band, Babik, Jsan and The Analogue Sons, Keith Secola and Band Of indians, Smackdab, Slo-Mo, Chad Crumm and Friends, Amanda Barton, King Rail, First Earth, Rising Son and The Gunpoets, The Hindu Cowboys and more takes place in Sherman at Walters Corners Road. Music starts at noon.
- Picture This (Huey Lewis tribute band), and 2 Kool 4 Skool are at Papermill Island in Baldwinsville. Music starts at 5 p.m. and fireworks follow. General admission is$4, kids 12 and under are admitted free.
- The Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival featuring members of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and special guest Natalia Paruztakes takes place at the Glenn Curtiss Museum (8149 Route 54, Hammonsport) starting at 7:30 p.m. There will be a dinner prior to the concert (6 p.m.). Tickets are $30 for the concert and dinner and $15 for the concert only. Kids 6-10 will be admitted to the concert for $5.
- Savoy Brown featuring Kim Simmonds and Joe Whiting are at the Earlville Opera House (18 E. Main St., Earlville) at 8 p.m. Admission is $15-$25.
- Amber Inn (2424 Otisco Valley Rd., Marietta) – Fully Loaded Band, 9:30 p.m.
