The original Kane performs all afternoon at the Central Square Apple Festival, which takes place at the Brewerton Speedway (Route 11, Brewerton). The event includes all kinds of apple food items, crafts, rides, and more. Gates open at 9 a.m. and music starts at 1 p.m. Admission is $1, kids under 12 admitted free.

Thursday, Sept. 26: Red Jumpsuit Apparatus does double duty!

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus comes to town in a big way Thursday, performing first at North Syracuse Junior High School (5353 W. Taft Rd., North Syracuse) as part of a benefit for the schools music program. The Civil Servants open the show, which starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $15.

The band then heads over to mac's Bad Art Bar (1799 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale) where they are joined by  War Generation, Wayland, Nineball, Kilter, Far From Over and Civil Servants. Music starts at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $10.

Saturday, Sept. 21: Tipp Hill Music Festival

The Tipp Hill Music Festival kicks off at noon.Due to the weather, the event is being moved to the Burnet Park Ice Rink (Avery and Coolidge Ave.).

Twenty local bands, including Colin Aberdeen and the Barking Loungers, Sirsy, The Easy Ramblers, Count Blastula, The Casual Dog Reunion Band, Akuma Roots, The Fabulous Ripcords, Pale Green Stars, The Blind Owl, Band Boots-n-Shorts, Medicine Wheel, The Fat Peace,  Frenay and Lenin, Alex Boatman and the Boatmen, Brownskin, The Causeway Giants, Frank and Burns, The Dr. Tom Dooley Choraliers,  and The Bog Brothers perform.
