Saturday, August 17: Chenango Blues Festival and more

Royal Southern Brotherhood headlines Saturday at the Chenango Blues Fest
The Chenango Blues Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the  Chenango County Fairgrounds (East Main Street, Norwich). Featured artists include Valerie June, the California Honeydrops, Ben Prestage, Shemekia Copeland, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Honey Island Swamp Band, Chris O’Leary and Larry McCray. Admission is $20 in advance, $30 at the gate. Kits under 17 free.

  • Jamfest at the LaFayette Apple Festival grounds (Route 20, LaFayette), noon to 8 p.m. - $10
  • The Big Break with Mike McKay Band, Gunrunners, New Era, The Game is Greene, The Projection, Copper Vein Clones, Go Down Moses, The Spin Wires, Mole and the Level Antz, and Nails in the Pulpit at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.), 3 p.m. - $8 at the door.
  • Kashmir with opener Carolyn Kelly Blues Band at Paper Mill Island (136 Spensieri Ave., Baldwinsville), 7 p.m. - $7 for adults, free for children under 12.
  • Symphoria Brass Quintet close out this year's Candlelight Series outdoor show at Armory Square, corner of West Jefferson and Franklin streets, 8 p.m. - Free.
  • Dove Creek at Kellish Hill Farm (3192 Pompey Center Road, Manlius), 7:30 p.m. - $5 donation.
