Sunday, Sept. 30: Fall Fest today

The Sherwood Inn (26 W. Genesee St., Skaneateles) will be rocking today as area musicians gather for the annual Fall Fest. Bands include Tommy Connors, The Easy Ramblers, Honky Tonk Hindooz, Loren Barrigar with Mark Mazengarb and more. The party starts at noon and admission is free.

Saturday, Sept. 29: Ski Caz Jam and more today

Ski Caz Jam takes place today at Cazenovia Ski Club (5251 Rathbun Rd., Cazenovia). The event features some of the best area musicians, including The Felice Brothers, Dark Hollow, Andrew Greacen, Project Weather Machine and more. The jam starts at 3 p.m. and general admission is $20 (VIP tickets $50). Partial proceeds go to the Two Smiles One Hope Foundation.

Sunday, Sept. 23: Westcott Cultural Fair today

The last festival of summer 2012 - the Westcott Cultural Fair - takes place today on Westcott Street (between Concord Street and Dell Street, as well as some of the side streets off Westcott).

The event celebrates the diversity and uniqueness of the Westcott neighborhood through its culture, visual and performing arts, food, service organizations, and activities geared to families and university students in the neighborhood. Six stages will feature music from some of the area's best bands. Click here for the schedule.

The festival starts at noon. Admission is free.

Saturday, Sept. 22: Tipp Hill Music Festival today

The Sixth annual Tipperary Hill Music Festival takes place today at the Pass Arboretum (across from the Avery-Salisbury-Whittier entrance to Burnet Park).   The event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m. celebrates the neighborhood with music, food, crafts, games and more.

The lineup includes The Mere Mortals, Brownskin, Tipp Hillbillies, Perry-Mulhauser Band, The Z-Bones, Jack Murray and Friends, the Tim Herron Corporation, The DeSantis Orchestra, Two Hour Delay, Maka Rouge, Master Thieves, The Flyin’ Column, The Boatmen, Boots ‘N Shorts, White Picket Fence, Joanne Perry and the Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers Trio, Kim Monroe & Chris Eves, Causeway Giants and Easy Ramblers. Jazz-N-Caz
Gap Mangione and the New Big Band headlines tonight at Jazz-N-Caz at Cazenovia College’s Catherine Cummings Theatre (16 Lincklaen St., Cazenovia). The Cazenovia High School Vocal Ensemble will also perform as part of the show, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but a $10 donation would be appreciated.

Nicki Parrott, Bucky Pizzarelli and Chuck Redd perform at 7:30 p.m. tonight as part of Jazz-N-Caz  at Cazenovia College’s Catherine Cummings Theatre (16 Lincklaen St., Cazenovia). The 13th annual Jewish Music and Culture Festival takes place today at the Jewish Community Center (5565 Thompson Rd.). Entertainment will be provided by the Afro-Semetic Experience,  Keyna Hora Klezmer Band and Jonathan Dinkin. The event starts at noon and admission is free.

Friday, Sept. 7: Syracuse Irish Fest kicks off today

Summer's not over yet and this weekend, Clinton Square hosts the Syracuse Irish Festival, which kicks off today at 5 p.m. Today's entertainment lineup includes The Flyin' Column (5 p.m.), Harrington School (5:50 p.m.), Ennis (6:10 p.m.), Drumcliffe School (7:30 p.m.), The Rovers (7:40 p.m.), MDL Academy (9:15 p.m.), and The Elders (9:45 p.m.).

The festival also includes Irish dance, food, gifts, and more. Admission is free.

  • Jamfest also kicks off today at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds. The event, which runs through Sunday, features entertainment by Diamond Someday, Easy Ramblers, the Hillbilly Gypsies and more. Admission is $10 for Friday, $15 for Saturday or all weekend.

Artists announced for One World Day concert at the Dome

Dave Matthews and 'Idol's' Phillip Phillips will perform
The One World Concert featuring an appearance by the Dalai Lama is going to be pretty epic, at least by Syracuse standards. An expanded lineup has been announced, and it includes a rather diverse assortment of artists.
