Friday, Sept. 7: Syracuse Irish Fest kicks off today

Summer's not over yet and this weekend, Clinton Square hosts the Syracuse Irish Festival, which kicks off today at 5 p.m. Today's entertainment lineup includes The Flyin' Column (5 p.m.), Harrington School (5:50 p.m.), Ennis (6:10 p.m.), Drumcliffe School (7:30 p.m.), The Rovers (7:40 p.m.), MDL Academy (9:15 p.m.), and The Elders (9:45 p.m.).

The festival also includes Irish dance, food, gifts, and more. Admission is free.

  • Jamfest also kicks off today at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds. The event, which runs through Sunday, features entertainment by Diamond Someday, Easy Ramblers, the Hillbilly Gypsies and more. Admission is $10 for Friday, $15 for Saturday or all weekend.
  • Nancy Kelly at Sitrus on the Hill (801 University Ave.), 6 p.m. - Free admission.
  • The Nields at Earlville Opera House (18 E. Main St., Earlville), 7 p..m. - Free.
  • The Scarlet Ending CD release party at the Lost Horizon (5863 Thompson Road), 7:30 p.m. - $10.
  • Erin McKeown at May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society (3800 E. Genesee St.), 8 p.m. - $15.
