Saturday, March 17: St. Patrick's Day in the 'Cuse


It's St. Patrick's Day and the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Syracuse kicks off the day's festivities. This year's theme is Irish Roots in Ireland - Irish Spirits in Syracuse. The parade starts at noon.

Also today, Coleman’s Irish Pub is hosting an Irish Hooley at the Oncenter. The event features music from The Flyin’ Column, New Day, and The Tom Dooley Choraliers along with step dancers, fiddlers and bagpipers.

Admission, which includes all-day parking at the Oncenter Garage, is $15 for adults (includes corned beef sandwich), $5 for ages 5 to 12 (includes chicken tenders) and free for 4 and younger. The event runs from noon to 6 p.m.

  • The Coachmen with Elizabeth Fern at Pensabene’s Casa Grande (135 State Fair Blvd.), 5 p.m. - $10.
  • Stone River Band plus corned beef and cabbage come together at the Volney Fire Department (3002 State Route 3, Fulton), 5 p.m. - $10 person, $15 couple, $5 dance only.
  • Josh Harty with Cathy Wenthen and John Cadley. at the Nelson Odeon (4035 Nelson Road.), 8 p.m. - $15.
  • Tracy Grammer and Greg Brown at the Oswego Music Hall, McCrobie Civic Center (41 Lake St., Oswego), 8 p.m. -  $30 at the door
