Sunday, Dec. 18: Christmas music abounds in and around the ‘Cuse


It’s the holiday season, and there’s plenty of great live entertainment in Central New York. Here’s what’s going on:

  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra music with The Wizards of Winter at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St., Syracuse), 9 p.m. 
  • Ave Maria with Schola Cantorum of Syracuse at Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church (5299 Jamesville Road, DeWitt), 4 p.m. - $15.
  • Masterworks Chorale Christmas Concert at St. Mary of the Lake Church, Skaneateles, 4 p.m. - Food pantry donation and offering. 
  • Symphony Syracuse Holiday Pops at Crouse-Hinds Concert Theatre (411 Montgomery St., Syracuse), 2:30 p.m. -  $25 to $40, students, $10. 
  • Pergolesi’s Magnificat at St. David’s Episcopal Church (14 Jamar Drive, Fayetteville), 10 a.m. - Offering.
  • Klezmer Christmas Chaos with Regi Carpenter at the Earlville Opera House’s Arts Café (18 E. Main St., Earlville), 2 p.m. - Free.
  • Christmas at the Palace with the DeSantis Orchestra to benefit the late Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society at the Palace Theatr (2384 James St.), 5 p.m. - $20.
  • Bells and Motley Consort at the Holy Transfiguration Churc (783 Franklin Park Drive, East Syracuse), 6 p.m.
  • Messiah Sing-along at the Tully High School Auditorium (5850 Route 80, Tully), 6:30 p.m. – Free admission.
  • Second Baptist Church Choir ‘Searching For A King Contata’ at the Second Baptist Church (1 N. Herman Ave., Auburn), 7 p.m. – Free admission).

At the clubs
  • Dovetail Joint with Miss E at Dox Grill at Pirate’s Cove (9170 Horseshoe Island Road, Clay), 5 p.m.
  • Flyin’ Column at Coleman’s Authentic Irish Pub (100 S. Lowell Ave.), 4 p.m.
  • Open Mike with Dave Shaw’s Smokin’ Section at Rooters Tavern (4141 S. Salina St.), 9 p.m.
  • Open Mike with Johnny Rage Band at Bridge Street Tavern (109 Bridge St., Solvay), 7:30 p.m.
