Sunday, Dec. 11: Symphony Syracuse's "Messiah" today


Symphony Syracuse with Syracuse University's Oratorio Society perform Handel's "Messiah" today at 3 p.m. at Hendricks Chapel on the Syracuse University campus. Tickets are $20 adults and $10 students.

  • Jane Monheit as part of the Swing City jazz series/fundraiser at the Other Side of Utica (2011 Genesee St., Utica), 2:30 p.m. - $20. 
  •  Syracuse University Brass Ensemble at the United Church of Fayetteville (310 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville), 3 p.m. - Free admission.
  • Jubilation Christmas concert at the Park United Methodist Church (17 Broad St., Hamilton), 3:30 p.m. -. $8.
  • Central New York Bluegrass Association Holiday Party featuring Diamond Someday and more starting at noon at the American Legion (13 E. Main St., Marcellus). Dinner is at 3 p.m. with more music starting at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, free under 16.
  • Old-Time Music Jam at Kellish Hill Farm (3192 Pompey Center Road, Manlius), 1 p.m.-  $5 suggested donation.
  • Winter Concert II with Onondaga Community College’s Jazz Ensemble, Latin Ensemble and Singers will at OCC’s Storer Auditorium (4585 W. Seneca Turnpike), 3 p.m - Free admission.
  • Second Baptist Church Choir at the church (1 N. Herman Ave., Auburn), 7 p.m. - Free admission. 
  • Brian Regan at State Theatre, Ithaca
  • Children’s show Barney Birthday Bash at SRC Arena (4585 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse), 1 and 4:30 p.m. - $10 to $55
  • Syracuse Vocal Ensemble  at Liverpool First United Methodist Church (604 Oswego St., Liverpool), 3 p.m. - $20.
  • Amahl and the Night Visitors at St. Joseph the Worker Church (1001 Tulip St., Liverpool), 3 and 7 p.m. - Free admission.
  • Gail Lyons' Harp Ensemble Christmas Program at Franciscan Church of the Assumption (812 N. Salina St., Syracuse), 3 p.m. - Donations accepted. 
  • Community Christmas Concert at Marcellus First Presbyterian Church (North and Main streets, Marcellus), 4 p.m. - Free admission.
