Friday, Sept. 9: Irish Festival kicks off in Syracuse tonight


The annual Syracuse Guinness Irish Festival kicks off today in Clinton Square in Syracuse. The event, which is free, features Irish food and drink, merchandise, and of course, great Irish tunes. Here's today's schedule: Flyin’ Column (5 p.m.), Goitse (6:10 p.m.), The Elders (7:40 p.m.) and The Glengharry Bhoys (9:45 p.m.).

  • Jamfest at the Apple Valley Festival Grounds (Route 20, Lafayette), runs Friday through Sunday. Admission is $5-$10.
  • Pop Evil, Finding Clyde, Damaged in Transit, Feeding Affliction and One Step From Falling at Lost Horizon (5863 Thompson Road, DeWitt), 6:30 p.m. - $10.
  • Best Coast, Sarah Aument and Animal Pants at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.), 8 p.m. - $12.
