Wednesday, August 11: Lots of live music in and around the 'Cuse

There's a whole lot of music going on in CNY today. Here's what's going on:

  • Smokin' at Lonergan Park (Brewerton Rd., North Syracuse) at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Fritz's Polka Band at Rome Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m.
  • Dave Novak and the Party Nuts at Village of Manlius Amphitheater (1 Arkie Albanese Ave., Manlius) at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Neighborhood Friends Reunion at Johnson Park, Liverpool as part of Liverpool is the place concert series. The show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Skaneateles Festival: Trio Solisti (Maria Bachmann, violin; Alexis Pia Gerlach, cello; Jon Klibonoff, piano) at First Presbyterian Church (97 E. Genesee Street Skaneateles) - 11 a.m.; Open rehearsal, Trio Solisti (Maria Bachmann, violin; Alexis Pia Gerlach, cello; Jon Klibonoff, piano) and Alan Kay rehearse the Pulitzer-prize winning “Tempest Fantasy” with composer Paul Moravec at First Presbyterian Church, 2 p.m.
  • Robert Cray Band, George Thorogood and the Fabulous Thunderbirds at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) (Finger Lakes Community College campus, 3355 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua). The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17-$42.
  • The Fulton Chain Gang at Village Park Grandstand (Main St., Sylvan Beach) at 7 p.m. Free admission.
  • Tiffany Summer Concert Series with Donna and Maureen Riester at Willard Memorial Chapel, Auburn at noon.
  • Auburn Civic Band Celebrates 100 Years concert at Owasco Fire Department, Auburn at 7 p.m.
  • Mirza Tihic and Klaus Raith and Oswego Valley Fiddlers at Market Street Park, Auburn at 6 p.m.

At the clubs
  • Al’s Wine and Whiskey Lounge (321 South Clinton St.) - Stevie Wolf and the Blues Express 9 p.m.
  • Borio’s Restaurant (8891 McDonells Parkway, Cicero) - Mark Macri, 6 p.m.
  • Castaways (916 Route 37, Brewerton) – Tommy Barr, 7 p.m.
  • Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (246 W. Willow St.) – Guitar Shorty, 9 p.m.
  • The Electric Co. (700 Varick St., Utica) - Mohawk Valley Blues Society Open Jam with Jimmy Wolf, 7 p.m.
  • Four Seasons Pizza (Route 49, Marcy) - Over the Top, 6 p.m.
  • Half Penny Pub (321 W. Fayette St.) - Smite, Capricorn Black, The Buzz, 8 p.m.
  • Laci’s Burger Joint (2700 James St.) – The Dixieland Project, 5 p.m.
  • The Lost Horizon (5853 Thompson Rd.) – Augustine, 7 pm.
  • Palisades Hotel (1921 N. James St., Rome) – Paul Taylor, 9 p.m.
  • Quaker Steak and Lube (3535 Walter St., Syracuse) – Mike Estep Band, 5 p.m.
  • The Retreat (302 Vine St., Liverpool) – Elephantshoes, 7 p.m.
  • River Rock Bar and Grill (8 Bridge St., Phoenix) - Just Joe, 7 p.m.
  • ShamRocks Rock & Roll Irish Pub (109 E. Taft Road, North Syracuse) - Okham’s Razor, 9 p.m.
  • Sheraton University Inn (801 University Ave.) – Gary Frenay and Arty Lenin, 5 p.m.
  • Shifty’s (1401 Burnet Ave.) – Open Mike with Big D, 9 p.m.
  • Suzy’s Tavern (346 W. Genesee St., Auburn) – The Singin’ DJ Terri Casbarro, 6 p.m.
  • Syracuse Suds Factory (320 S. Clinton St.) – E.S.P., 6 p.m.
  • Woody’s Jerkwater Pub (2811 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale) – Dave Hawthorn, 6 p.m.
