Saturday, June 26: Richie Havens, Boz Scaggs and more at Jazz Fest

The 28th annual Syracuse Jazz Fest continues all day on the campus of Onondaga Community College. The event is free and parking is $5 per car. Along with great music, this year, the festival will feature the Syracuse Peace Council Crafts Fair. Here's Friday's music schedule:

  • 1:30 p.m. - Corcoran High School Jazz Ensemble
  • 2:30 p.m. - Mexico High School Jazz Ensemble
  • 3:30 p.m. - Skaneateles Middle School Jazz Ensemble
  • 4:30 p.m. - Skaneateles High School Jazz Band
  • 6 p.m. - Marcellus High School Jazz Ensemble
  • 7:30 p.m. - West Genesee High School Jazz Band

Clinics, master classes, meet-the-artist sessions in Whitney ATC
  • 1 p.m. - Kimberley Jordan piano master class, Room 153
  • 3 p.m. - Chris “Toph-E” Parker drums master class, Room 153
  • 4 p.m. - Jay Ashby trombone master class, Room 153

  • Gin Blossoms, Soul Asylum, Uncle Plum, and the Genesee Brewery Employee Band perform as part of Genesee Brewery’s “Rock the Cans” concert at the brewery (445 Saint Paul St., Rochester). Music starts at 4 p.m. and admission is $12.
  • The Glengarry Bhoys are at Center for the Arts (72 S. Main St., Homer) for an 8 p.m. show. General admission is $20.
  • Christian rockers, The Kerlin Syndrome, celebrate the release of their new CD, Strings of Men, at the Red House (201 S. West St.). The event starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $6.
  • Genesis and Peter Gabriel tribute band, The Waiting Room, headlines at the Westcott Theater (524 Westcott St.). Music starts at 9 p.m.
  • 1000 Islands River Run (Main St., Alexandria Bay) – Cousin Jake, 11 a.m.; The Jam Bones, 3 p.m.; Emerald City, 7 p.m.
  • The Bomb is at Clark Mills Fireman’s Field Days (Main St., Clark Mills) at 7 p.m.
  • The Guise performs at Green Lakes Park (Route 5, Fayetteville) at 5 p.m.
  • The Heaters are at Cobblestone Farm Winery & Vineyard (5102 Route 89, Romulus) at 1 p.m.
  • Morris and the Hepcats rock out at noon at Performance Harley Davidson (807 N. Geddes St.)
